Account. Sign-in runs on Firebase: as a guest you're an anonymous ID; with Apple sign-in we store the name Apple shares (you can edit it anytime). We never see your password.
Coffee-bag photos. Photos you scan are sent to Google's Gemini API to read the label and build your recipe, and stored in Google Cloud so your recipe keeps your own photo and can be regenerated. We use Google's paid API tier, whose terms exclude your photos and data from being used to train AI models. Don't include anything personal in the frame.
App data. Your shelf, ratings, reviews, brew logs, gear and preferences are stored in Google Firestore. A push token is stored only if you enable notifications.
Product events. We record what the app does — a scan started, a recipe opened, a rating saved — against your account ID in our own Google Cloud project, to see which features work. No third-party analytics SDK is involved and nothing leaves Google Cloud.
Your display name, public ★ ratings and reviews, shelf and coffee passport are visible to other CoCoffee users and via links you share. Private brew feedback (👍👌👎) is never shown publicly.
No ads. No selling or sharing data with data brokers. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Google Firebase & Google Cloud (auth, database, storage, hosting), Google Gemini (photo analysis), Apple (sign-in and, if you ever subscribe, purchases), Expo (push delivery).
Every review carries a ⚑ report button and every profile a ⋯ menu with Block. Blocked people disappear from your feed, reviews and search both ways, immediately. Reports reach us the moment they're sent; we review each one within 24 hours, remove content that breaks the rules (harassment, hate, spam, anything illegal) and suspend repeat offenders. You can also report by e-mail (below).
In the app: Profile → Delete account. It asks twice, then erases your profile, shelf, ratings, reviews, brew logs, gear, preferences, push token, your bag photos and the sign-in itself — right away, not in 30 days. Coffees you scanned stay in the shared catalogue without any link to you. If you can't open the app, e-mail us and we do the same by hand within 30 days.
